My Teaching Philosophy

The study of voice science and how it relates to singing is a passion of mine.  I firmly believe that learning never stops and am a proud member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing. Through them and their sister organizations, NYSTA and PAVA, I attend continuing education workshops and seminars several times a year. I am a certified  Level I Teacher in Somatic Voice Work and am currently studying for my Distinguished Voice Professional Certificate through NYSTA and Westminster Choir College.

Healthy vocal production is the key to beautiful singing, no matter the style you wish to perform.  In my studio students receive well-rounded training.  I teach classical technique geared toward the performance of the art song repertoire, oratorio, opera, light opera and musical theatre.  We also delve into song interpretation, acting and performance.

My students range in age from 10 to adult. My goal is to ensure that all singers, no matter the skill level, enjoy their journey and be the best that they can be.  Lessons can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes a week.  I recommend that children under the age of 14 start with 30 minutes.
